Summer 2023
Software Engineering Intern at Electronic Arts
For my Electronic Arts (EA) internship, I was a Software Engineer for Madden’s FUSE team. I was given the engaging project of implementing a Madden feature from design document to code review. Not only was this feature going to be a part of upcoming Madden games, but it was also an important contribution that will help my team long-term. In addition, I participated in a virtual intern fair where I presented my work.

What I Learned
Throughout this internship I've learned a lot about the Software Engineering Industry, what my preferences for work are, and many new useful skills. It was also my first time working with SQL via SQL workbench, Perforce, communicating and collaborating with people from various departments, and following the entire feature design and implementation process.
What I Did
-
Carried out the full implementation process, from design document to code review and submission.
-
Gained experience in each section of Madden’s architecture: Database, Server, Client, and UI.
-
Presented my work to other Interns and EA Employees through a company-wide Intern Fair.
-
Worked with a team to present my project, communicate my progress, ask clarifying questions, and cover all bases with my feature.
-
Learned new coding skills like MySQL and ActionScript.
-
Met many awesome people in the industry.
-
Had a great time with Intern peers!

Honorable Memory
The end of the Internship was marked with a Intern Fair, where each intern including myself presented their work to other Interns and EA Employees. This presentation included a slide presentation, explaining my work to non-technical participants, and answering questions.
